LEICESTERSHIRE PET PHOTOGRAPHY

Leicestershire, located in the East Midlands of England, is a land locked county with a rich history and a unique charm. The history of Leicestershire dates back to Roman times, evident in the archaeological remains and Roman roads that can still be found in the area. Today, Leicestershire is a mix of old and new. Beyond the urban centre, the county showcases stunning natural beauty. The rural landscapes are adorned with charming villages, rolling hills, and idyllic canals. Grace Dieu Priory, the location for Gemma Calderon's fundraising sessions, was constructed in the 13th century as a house Augustinian Nuns. After the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th century, the priory fell into ruin. Today, it stands as a picturesque ruin, attracting visitors with its historical signifi cance and serene surroundings.

In 2023, Gemma Calderon of Gemma Calderon Dog Photography joined professional photographers around the globe to make a difference for pets in need with 'Tails of the World'. This unique collaborative project celebrates dogs with an annual coffee table book and our latest volume has raised over $65,000 for animal rescue! Gemma raised $640 for The Dogs Trust, by photographing nine shoots around Leicestershire, England.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

"Hi, I’m Gemma - wife, boss, and mummy to Sofia & Harriet and also our Cocker Spaniels, Rufus & Otis. I’m based in Leicestershire, England and specialise in capturing dog portraits.

While studying photography many years ago, I immediately knew I wanted to be a dog photographer. So began Gemma Calderon Dog Photography! I love the sense of freedom photography gives me; being out in the woods with my camera allows me to find a sense of escapism, to be liberated and be ME! Away from the daily chores and stresses, it’s just me, the dog and my client. There's nothing greater than creating the most beautiful memories dogs. Creating a legacy that will last a lifetime! "
