HAWAII DOG PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographer Keri Nakahashi proudly declares in her bio that she lives in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Now, I get that many people are loyal to their home town, but when I took a look through the bright, tropical, sunfilled portraits from her Tails of the World fundraising photoshoots I had to admit - I think that Keri is right!
Honolulu is the capital city of Hawaii, famed for its iconic crescent Waikiki beach, palm trees and historical landmarks. In 2022, Keri joined 30 other photoraphers around the world to raise funds for pets in need with local photoshoots - she raised $1000 for Paws of Hawaii by photographing seventeen dogs all around the island. The sunny results will have you desperate to pack your bags and jump on the next flight to Hawaii!
Trixie and Reyna Waikiki Beach
Waikiki Beach is one of the most recognized Oahu beaches and spots in the world. Spanning two-miles, its one of the more busier spots on the island with lots of activities geared toward visitors. At the both ends of Waikiki are some relaxing, dog-friendly spots.
Pewa Kakaako Waterfront Park
Kakaako Waterfront Park is a popular spot to take your dog for a walk with an amazing sunset view. Itʻs shaded and spacious grassy areas are also the perfect place for family gatherings and picnics.
Ava Waialae Beach Park
Waialae Beach Park is located on the south shore, making it a nice spot to catch both the sunrise and sunset. The waves are gentle making it easy for dogs to run around, swim, or wade in the water. Itʻs also an ideal location for paddle boarding and kayaking.
Kaia, Noah and Maila Dillingham Ranch
A historic property with 2,700 acres that has the largest coconut plantation in Hawaii, a free range cattle operation, an equestrian boarding facility, and at the heart of the location, the Dillingham Lodge which is used to host weddings. This private estate is a stunning location for photos with its sprawling landscapes and beautiful mountain views.
