EDMOND PET PHOTOGRAPHY

Just north of Oklahoma City is the historic city of Edmond. Founded in 1887, downtown Edmond is decorated with street art and sculptures, and celebrates many different festivals throughout the year.

In 2023, Suzy McCracken joined professional photographers around the globe to make a difference for pets in need with 'Tails of the World'. This unique collaborative project celebrates dogs with an annual coffee table book and our latest volume has raised over $65,000 for animal rescue!

Suzy raised US$1435 for Bella SPCA with photoshoots around downtown Edmond and varied local parks: E.C. Hafer Park, Fink Park, Lake Arcadia and Myriad Botanical Gardens. E.C. Hafer and Fink Park are two central Edmond parks with beautiful trails, ponds and creeks. Myriad Gardens is located in the heart of Oklahoma City, with 15 acres of flower gardens and a small dog park. Lake Arcadia is a man-made lake with 26 miles of shoreline and impressive rocky bluffs.

Delta

Delta Dawn is a one year old Husky/Pit bull mix. She was fostered through Bella SPCA and her family fell in love immediately. She helps guide the many foster pups they cycle through her home. Her family loves how she's colored silver with a black stripe and different colored eyes. Her unique look draws attention wherever she goes .

Talli and Ace

Talli (3 year old Red heeler/pit bull) and Ace (6 year old Rat terrier/beagle mix) were both rescues from bad situations. Talli had been bred 2 or 3 times and then dumped. Ace was living with a woman who had several dogs who all slept in one crate and had to compete for food. Both have sweet natures, but are (understandably) a little insecure. Both are BIG on tummy rubbing and snuggling their mom and dad. Talli loves, loves to run free (we take her to a field) and Ace, although he enjoys it for a few minutes, keeps a close eye on Mom & Dad... won't get too far from us.

Gator

Gator is a one year old German Shepherd. His dad says Gator is smart but stubborn. He’s incredibly curious and fearless.

Graylee

It all started when a staff member at the OKC Animal Shelter was carrying Graylee in her arms to me so I could foster her. She was just 4 months old and brought to the shelter as a stray and by herself. When they handed her to me, she was so small for her age and I noticed there was a neck injury where it was shown that she obviously tried to escape a collar or leash that was too tight. Her hair was gone and she had marks around her neck too. It devasted me to know she felt so much pain and so much fear being so young. But having her in my arms, I knew she was safe forever. Graylee is a big fan of her walks (most days), she absolutely LOVES playing ball in her backyard, sleeping and being tucked into her bed, naps with mama and belly scratches while she's basketing in the sunshine in true Pittie style! Zoomies give her life too!

Marli

Marli is a one year old Pit, lab, mastiff and beagle mix. I went to all of the metro area rescues looking for just the right one. I ended up going to visit one shelter and there was a lady walking out with a basket of puppies. She was trying to give them away to good homes. It was love at first sight. The lady asked several questions to ensure that she would be getting a safe and loving home and I asked a few questions to find out the background. It turned out that I work with the woman’s husband. 8 months later, little did I know but Marli would end up rescuing me when my husband and I divorced. She is my sidekick and brings so much to my life.

Miley

Miley is a three year old Cockapoo. She is also a Covid Puppy! We decided to get a puppy BEFORE Covid hit but the puppy we chose didn't make it and we had to wait for the next litter, which was perfect timing because we went to pick her up in April of 2020 when we were all home to enjoy her! We decided to name her Miley because my daughter, Megan and I watched Hannah Montana during quarantine. Miley was such a crazy and rambunctious puppy that we thought the name Miley really fit! We love her so much!

Oklee Doklee

Oklee is a 13 year old Golden Retriever. Oklee's mom was owner-surrendered when she was pregnant with Oklee and her siblings. I volunteered to whelp the litter on behalf of the nonprofit organization to whom she was surrendered. From the moment she opened her eyes, Oklee didn't take her eyes off of us! Every time one of us would walk by the whelping box, her 12 brothers and sisters would be sleeping, pooping, or playing. Oklee would just be staring at us. It was so obvious that she chose us to be her forever family, and we kept her as all of her siblings got adopted.

She has been the perfect dog. I swear she speaks English. She understands everything I try to tell her, and she just wants to obey.

The funniest thing about her is that she loves vegetables! All kinds! She gets veggie scraps in her bowl as I cook, and she will eat EVERYTHING! Her brother and sister will only eat selected scraps, but Okes eats everything. (Except Okra. She does not like Okra. She calls it "NOkra"!

We call her Oklee because she was born in Oklahoma and her mom was named Berklee. So she gets the OK from oklahoma and the LEE from her mom. We call her Oklee Doklee because she's "okey dokey" with everything life throws at her.

Oliver

4 year old Golden Doodle, Oliver, is a cuddle bug! The day I got Oliver he actually chose me! He has the sweetest personality, and wants to be friends with everybody! Oliver makes my world so much happier!!

Primrose

Primrose is a two year old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. She’s the sweetest Lil Angel. I have a chronic illness and even on my sickest days, she’s glued to my side. I had lost my first Cav to Cancer at 8yrs old. I have had a dog all my life, and though I was reluctant to get a new one after my loss of Sugar I just couldn’t hold out so I put my name on a waiting list with the breeder not expecting to wait at least a year. But, within a couple of months I got a call. The breeder suddenly had another breeding friend who had a puppy ready to come home but, the person who was supposed to get her no longer could afford her. She sent me the picture of Prim asking me if I was interested, and I knew instantly she was meant to be mine that God has sent her to me. I looked at that sweet little face and knew that God was healing my heart from my grief by sending me this little love. I’ve been training with her to become a licensed therapy dog. There is not a person that she doesn’t like or a child that she doesn’t want to meet. She’s so gentle our favorite exercise is walking at Lake Arcadia in the park.

Rifle

Rifle is a one year old Blue Heeler / Australian Cattle Dog. Our little girl, Rifle, is the sweetest Blue Heeler you’ll ever meet. She’s calm but also knows when you need her help! She’s intelligent, gracious, and smiles 24/7. My fiancé and I adopted her from Bella SPCA back in January of 2022. We found her on the Bella SPCA website while we were drinking coffee at Black Rifle Coffee Company on Penn in OKC. She has become the unofficial mascot of Black Rifle Coffee. We love to play fetch with our Dog Nerf Gun at the dog park. She’s also very curious and always plays nice with other dogs.

ABOUT BELLA SPCA

Bella SPCA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Oklahoma City created in 2006 to assist low-income, elderly, or terminally ill pet owners with the cost of veterinary care when it cannot be afforded. Every year thousands of animals are euthanized, surrendered to local animal shelters, or pass away because the people who love them cannot financially absorb the cost of veterinary care. Stray and abandoned animals have even fewer options when brought into a clinic or veterinary office with no owner to pay for their care.
