LAUNCESTON PET PHOTOGRAPHY

Launceston, Tasmania is one of Australia’s oldest cities. Early Colonial and Victorian buildings, like the Launceston Town Hall (built in 1864), Customs House (built in 1885) and Franklin House (built in 1838), give the city a beautiful, historic character. The cool Tasmanian climate and abundance of pure water is ideal for making beer, spirits and wine. Rebecca photographed at Tandy’s Alehouse on Elizabeth Street as a nod to the state’s proud brewing history, which dates back to convict times.

In 2023, Rebecca Kostka of Shy Wolf Photography joined professional photographers around the globe to make a difference for pets in need with 'Tails of the World'. This unique collaborative project celebrates dogs with an annual coffee table book and our latest volume has raised over $65,000 for animal rescue! Rebecca raised $644 for German Shepherd Rescue Tasmania, by photographing ten shoots around Launceston, Tasmania Australia.

ABOUT GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE TASMANIA

Trudi runs German Shepherd Rescue Tasmania and she knows the breed well, some are rehabilitated and re-homed, some stay with her forever due to their people or health issues. The rescue's aim is to educate the public on the breed and also to the perils of buying a puppy from a backyard breeder/puppy farm. #rescuedogsrescuepeople

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

"I spent a lot of time exploring Dartmoor national park with our family German Shepherd, our ‘Mollydog’. I was always taking photos of her, with no idea pet photography could be a thing.

I moved from the UK to Tasmania 10 years ago, worked in a shelter and took the adoption photos in my spare time. This led to me creating my gorgeous business and six years later, I am now a full time pet photographer.

After losing our Molly, I know how important these images are to people, our pets are a massive part of our lives and I adore celebrating them through my images."
