EDMONTON DOG PHOTOGRAPHY

Edmonton holds the unofficial title of Canada’s Festival City, hosting over fifty festivals year round. It’s a city that values art and culture, so when photographer Cassie Thurrott set out to capture ten dogs around the city to raise funds for Infinite Woofs Animal Rescue Society, she knew that she wanted to also celebrate her city’s colourful soul.

Edmonton’s Rust Magic International Street Mural Festival brings local and international artists together to decorate the city with murals, and several of these beautiful backdrops featured in Cassie’s photoshoots! Her photoshoots also explored the local River Valley, home to popular Edmontonian features such as the Muttart Conservatory, over 130km of trails (including some popular dog parks) and the stunning city skyline. All in all, she raised a wonderful $700 for Infinite Woofs Society, to help with their work rescuing and rehabilitating unwanted, abused and neglected animals in Edmonton.

Latte at The Lady of Manchester Square Mural by Alixandra Jade.

Latte is a 2 year old golden retriever. Humans are her favourite! Super sweet and will not stop playing! Latte loves hanging out with her momma in her salon and sneaking away all moms scrunchies. Her other favourite things are food, balls, snuggles, and grandma - you can follow her doggy adventures @lattethepuppuccino.

Freddie is a 3 year old, male Golden Retriever. He loves his walks, treats, dog park, and snuggles. As long as he is with his parents, he is happy. He loves everyone, especially Grandma & Grandpa. He loves daycare too! He loves snap peas, peppers, and sweet potatoes. Literally the most affectionate, loyal, and goofy dog! Follow along with his adorable photos @thatgolden_freddie

Theodore Rupert Rup-A-Dupe O’Connor at River Valley, Edmonton, Alberta Canada

Theo is a 10 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is a clumsy and affectionate puppy with razor sharp teeth. Theo loves the sound of finger tapping and loves all the treats given.

Baloo

Baloo is a 9 month old, male Rottweiler puppy, photographed at Buena Vista Dog Park in the River Valley.

His favourite snack is definitely plain ground beef. Baloo is a loyal, confident, happy-go-lucky dog who loves everyone and has a real goofy side to his personality. He can be anywhere from energetic and silly to relaxed and lazy. Baloo gave us a new perspective on life and helped us make our house a home.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a two year old, female Pomeranian, photographed at Buena Vista Dog Park in the River Valley.

Pumpkin loves car rides, walks, adventures, McDonalds, shredding paper, and barking. She loves to come on car rides, and go hiking. She is a very picky eater, but loves all kinds of meats. She is very friendly and loves everyone she meets.

Ruby-Roo

Ruby is Italian Greyhound x Chihuahua, photographed at Buena Vista Dog Park in the River Valley.

She was just one year old at our shoot, and very shy at first. She is sister to Chase, who is also featured in this book. Ruby likes both food, toys, and following her big brother around.

Chase

Chase is a Puggle (Pug x Beagle) , age 6, and the bestest boy. Chase has a beagle nose and loves chasing a scent. Chase is a big brother to Ruby-Roo - we photographed them both at Buena Vista Dog Park in the River Valley.

Wallace

Wallace is a 4 year old, male Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, who we photographed with the murals i downtown Edmonton. This pictured mural is Valley Wall by Will Truchon.

Wallace is a bit of a dichotomy - he loves to wrestle and get dirty but also loves looking proper and modelling. He’s an easy-going goof, while also being stubbornly independent - all of which has made him a very loved good boy.

He loves cheese, enjoys wrestling at the dog park, learning new skills (has his Intermediate trick title and is training in agility), going on adventures, carrying his now one eared bunny around the house, and even being photographed (because it always involves lots of treats).

Frankie

Frankie is a 5 year old Wheaten Terrier, photographed with the Pyramids of Muttart Conservatory.

She loves SNACKS, swimming, tunnelling in snow, and generally being a menace. Loves her people, but mostly her gramma.

Falafel

Falafel is a 3 year old Dalmatian, photographed against the Edmonton City Skyline.

She is obsessed with food. She’s also a serious model but doesn't like to smile. Falafel lives her regal and spoiled life in downtown Edmonton, spending her days snuggling in all her blankies and drinking fresh smoothies.
