BARRIE PET PHOTOGRAPHY
Known for its picturesque waterfront, the outdoorsy city of Barrie in Ontario, Canada provides dog parents ample opportunities for hiking, swimming, and enjoying nature with their furry friends.
In 2023, Missy Maher joined professional photographers around the globe to make a difference for pets in need with 'Tails of the World'. This unique collaborative project celebrates dogs with an annual coffee table book and our latest volume has raised over $65,000 for animal rescue!
Missy raised US$530 for Project Paws Dog Rescue by photographing dogs at four beautiful, dog-friendly locations around Barrie: Springwater Park, Sunnidale Park, The Ardagh Bluffs and the Barrie Waterfront. Springwater Park features a series of 31 trails winding through hills, forests, meadows and ponds. Back in the 70s, Sunnidale Park was transformed from a golf course into the city’s largest urban park with 50 acres of open fields, wooded ravines, a community garden, a children’s playground and a dedicated off-leash dog park. The Ardagh Bluffs are another city oasis, with 518 forested acres right in the heart of Barrie. And of course, there’s the Barrie Waterfront Heritage Trail, with 11 different parks, 4 main beaches and different historical themes along each of the stations. Community events and festivals are held here throughout the year.
