OREGON DOG PHOTOGRAPHY

Otherwise known as DogTown USA, Bend, Oregon has been voted the country’s dog-friendliest city. With more than 50 miles of urban trails, 40 pet-friendly breweries and restaurants and outdoor adventure opportunities all year round, it’s easy to see why dogs love Bend!

Photographer Taneya Hayden raised $600 for Herd U Needed A Home by photographing nine local dogs around downtown Bend and at Lava Butte, part of the Newberry Volcano.

Scout Boy

Have you ever met a dog that acts like a cat mixed with a wild toddler? Well, Scout is your man! He is a 3 year old German Shepherd/Chow/Huskey mix who can be described as aloof, playful, handsome, loving, and smart. Scout has a super unique feature--a black tongue!--and can whisper on command!
The highlight of this session was seeing how much Scout adores his mom. He looks at her in a way that just makes you melt!

Finnley

At 2 years old, Finnley was the perfect model! He was eager to please, curious, and just excited to be there. This session was done in downtown Bend. The city of Bend began as a logging town and has since transformed into an avid outdoor paradise! In addition to all the recreation available, Bend has a diverse collection of locally-owned shops, restaurants, and breweries.

Dozer

This handsome pup is a 6 year old Silver Lab named Dozer James Duncan Wirges. Dozer for short. This guy was a little hesitant with me and my camera at first but he warmed up quickly. Not even five minutes into our session, Dozer decided it was way to quiet Downtown and he wanted to liven it up--by barking nonstop through our entire session! He knows how to take himself on walks and is a total sweetheart.

Shiloh

If you had to pick one word to describe Shiloh it would be: MELLOW. This sweet girl is a 5 year old rescue. She developed glaucoma early in her life and became a permanent "Winker". Shiloh takes in the world at her own pace absolutely loves her family. No one makes her butt wiggle quite like her little sister Tymber!

Tymber

Tymber is Shiloh's little sister and she could not be more different. She is a bit high strung and very energetic. You'd never guess it by her images but Tymber can be timid around strangers. With her mom by her side, she bloomed into a fantastic and confident model during her session!

Koda

Koda is loyal and faithful. She is the odd ball out in a family full of Italian Greyhounds but she loves them just the same. I imagine if Koda had a slogan or motto she lived by it would be "Ball is Life". Her eyes light up and you can see her come alive at the sight of a ball!

Dash

This session took place at the Lava Lands Visitor Center near Lava Butte in Bend, Oregon. This is an absolutely incredible place that tends to get looked over in the area. Here you get a combination of the nature found in Central Oregon. Beautiful Ponderosa trees (complete with half a million pine needles and cones), Bitter Brush and Bunch grass, and a vast lava flow that gave the nearby butte it's name. This lava flow formed approximately 7,000 years ago and extends for 5 miles! It is incredible to experience.

Saison

Saison, Saisy for short, loves her momma and is incredibly curious. This cute girl is all about "GO". There were so many things to sniff and places to explore I don't think she could have cared any less about having a camera in her face!

Bailey

Things Bailey loves: naps, sunbathing, & lettuce. He is the silliest, sweetest dog I have ever met. He's not crazy about the camera but the treats during the shoot are totally worth it!

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Obsessed with dogs, she once flew across the country to attend a week-long dog training workshop just for the heck of it. During that workshop, Taneya discovered that she loves to connect with other dog-obsessed people!

After a few years teaching Jr. High art, Taneya's career path took her from teaching to Graphic Design to Photography. While she still enjoys graphic design, Taneya's love of animals and photography have combined to become an unexpected but amazing business venture. She is so grateful for her husband, Sam, who has been so supportive and encouraging.
