MACKAY DOG PHOTOGRAPHY
Mackay is located in the heart of Queensland, Australia’s tropical coast. It’s a laidback coastal city, with more than 30 stunning beaches and easy access to eleven national parks. It’s here that Fiona Kroll of Coffee and Hops photographed twenty dogs for the 2022 Tails of the World project.
Her colourful photographs capture this bright, sun-filled location wonderfully. From sunset at Bucasia Beach, to the heart of the city, to the oh-so-Aussie bush trails - Fiona showed off every aspect of Mackay and raised $1000 for Mackay Animal Rescue Society.
Oscar, Luna & Sailor Cattle Creek, at Gargett
The creek is a popular spot for outdoorsy types, particularly on weekends, and these three love to play in the water, but keep to the shallows as they aren't the best of swimmers.
Buckley Bucasia Beach
Bucasia Beach is Buckley's favourite beach, and when the tide is right, the wet sand acts like mirror, reflecting the sky (and sandy, wet dogs who pose on it).
Gus Fifth Lane, Mackay City Heart
The Fifth Lane Street Arts Project is the culmination of 16 local artists and 5 visiting artist's work in an outdoor gallery that has something for everyone. Gus is a very well trained Weimaraner, who took all the distractions of being in the busy laneway in his stride.
Trixie, Ebony & Shelley Queens Park
Recently renovated, Queens Park is a popular location for community events, and is home to the Orchid House, and a yarning circle where you can enrich yourself with the culture of Mackay's traditional owners, the Yuwi people.
